Java J2EE Technical Consultant required to join a rapidly growing Document Generation/DMS & CMS solutions provider. We required candidates with excellent interpersonal skills, the confidence & gravitas to work on consulting/implementation assignments on client site. The suitable candidate will have a strong technical background with a Java/XML/JMS slant & experience through the full SDLC - the role will include working as a Developer, Solution Designer, Tech BA & Technical Consultant enjoying client exposure through each stage of the product implementation cycle. The suitable candidates will be motivated by the prospect of working in consultancy, possibly moving out of an Analyst Programmer, BA or PM role into full implementation solutions provision/consultancy. The Senior Consultant will be responsible for the successful delivery of the organisations sector leading document generation/DMS solutions to major financial services & blue-chip clients across investment banking, funds management, retail banking & insurance as well as a number of other vertical markets.
Role Responsibilities
- Gather customer requirements for projects & delivers required solution including design documentation
- Installation & configuration of products on client sites
- Performs product knowledge transfer to customer resources whilst on site
- Performs customisations & integrations with our products using Java API's, Web Services & some coding where neccessary
- Mentors & guides junior technical resource both junior consultants & client staff
- Leads projects in the absence of Projects Managers & Principle Consultants
- Interfaces with clients in a professional, credible manner
- Travels as neccessary to client and partner sites in Aus, NZ & Asia in line with product implementations
Required Skills & Experience
- 4-5 years + software experience in development, configuration &/or installation
- Excellent verbal, written & personal presentation & communication skills
- XML, XSL & ideally XSD's/DTD technical skills
- Java - ideally JBoss, Weblogic or Websphere
- SQL Server, DB2, Oracle or Sybase experience
- Print Formats - PostScript, PDF, AFP, PCL
- Web Services & Messaging technologies - JMS, MQ Series or similar
- An appreciation of Enterprise Content Management / ECM / CMS or Document Generation / DMS or Print Formats systems also of benefit - Vignette , Interwoven , Thunderhead etc
