Production Support Manager - Equities Trading/Stockbroking environment. Fast growth Equities Trading/Stockbroking & Securities area of this leading global investment bank requires a Production Support Manager / Operations Support Head. The role is the Head Of/Manager/Lead of the IT Operations team in Sydney which supports all applications used by the front, middle and back office and is situated on the trading floor of one of the most successful brokers in Sydney. Reporting to the Australian Head Of Technology and the Global Operations Manager, you will lead a team of 13 people dedicated to supporting the Australian and New Zealand business and will also form part of the follow the sun global operations team.

The role involves lots of business and client interaction and works closely with the development, project and infrastructure teams. This is a great fast paced role with a mixture of support , team leadership, project work and improvements to the operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the team that provides support for front, middle and back office applications for the Equities / Securities business in Australia and New Zealand.
  • Managing the BCP program for the Australian and New Zealand business
  • Risk Management - working closely with the central technology risk management team and business operational risk managers to identify and manage technology risk
  • Incident ,change and problem management
  • Managing vendor relationships
  • Stakeholder management
  • Working closely with the development and project teams to ensure smooth transition of new systems into production
  • Capacity management

Skills :

  • Excellent Communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • Strong sense of ownership with a passion for the securities business and associated technologies
  • Proven ability to lead a team
  • Client service and business facing
  • Experience with range of technologies

The ideal candidate will have :

  • Experience in leading a support team for a Stockbroker, Investment Bank, Funds Manager or similar financial institution
  • High level of motivation and be able to demonstrate initiative and flexibility
  • Experience and sound knowledge of the following systems of benefit - Fidessa, IRESS , CMS iBRoKER
  • Knowledge of the FIX protocol desirable
  • Equities business knowledge of benefit - trading systems experience imperative
