Business Analyst - Investment Bank - Data & Data Warehouse / BI Skills - Middle/Back-Office Equities trading systems environment. Global investment banking & securities firm requires a Business Analyst to act as a conduit between business users & local software development teams covering - front, middle & back-office trading & processing systems - predominantly Equities. The BA will be responsible for scoping & documenting development requirements in support of business and operational initiatives and re-engineering processes from initial problem analysis through to solution implementation - particularly around how the bank uses data - data modelling/analysis & the datawarehouse. Candidates will have financial markets middle to back office experience including data modelling/analysis.
To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:
- Show experience either as a Business Analyst within an Investment Banking, Equities , Funds Management, Stockbroking, Securities or Settlements IT environment
- Experience in data modelling & data analysis - candidates MUST be able to talk through what they have modelled & supporting data analysis
- possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- have excellent written and oral communication skills, tailoring your communications to suit the audience
- work well under pressure to provide timely and accurate solutions to business opportunities and challenges
- display a strong appreciation of key business drivers and an understanding of information technology's contribution and impact upon business
- be a self-starter who works well both independently and as part of a team
- ideally have a strong working knowledge of equity trading and the processing of trades.
- middle and back office financial services technology including, but not limited to, order management / trading systems, portfolio management systems, back office platforms , settlements
- data modelling/analysis - ideally including DWH/datawarehouse initiatives/projects
- excellent functional design skills & experience
- the development of successful business cases
- the full lifecycle of business analysis activities including functional design, process mapping, scope definition, requirements definition, functional design, testing, implementation, and user training
- gained from within an IT project management background and show a record of successful project delivery
