Description
Our client is currently requiring an Environmental Approvals Coordinator to provide support to ensure that the environmental approvals processes are performed to company standards and in a suitable time frame. The position also requires support to be given to the Environmental Manager and Sustainable Development to fulfill the HSandE business plan and long term strategies.
Responsabilities
Manage specific environmental approvals projects.
Facilitating studies to ensure access to suitable, comprehensive, high quality data for use in environmental approvals and other processes.
Ensuring that appropriate interaction occurs with Government so that final environmental approval submissions satisfy all Government requirements.
Following through Government approvals process including Community engagement, to ensure timely approvals for projects.
Providing a common contact point for all Government Environmental approvals.
Working within and outside the "E"-Function to maintain EMS to ISO14001 and HSEC standards.
Working towards the successful implementation of the HSE Business Plan.
Reporting to the Manager of Environmental and Sustainable Development and working with the Principle Environmental Approvals Coordinator, the suitable applicant would require a qualification in Environmental Science/Engineering.
Experience and Technical Knowledge
3 or more years experience working in environmental management and/or approvals
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong planning skills
Ability to engage both internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work both within and across functional areas in the organisation
Ability to ensure that agreed actions are implemented
Thorough knowledge of WA environmental approvals system
Substantial mining industry experience
Strong project management skills
Excellent report writing skills
Ability to prepare and deliver high quality presentations
