Description

POSITION PURPOSE
To undertake safety and environmental audits on all construction projects, at the Perth Airport, to identify improvement opportunities and non-conformances to HSE practices and management across the airport estate.
MAIN TASKS

Conduct health safety and environment audits of airport construction projects, liaise with key stakeholders to address outcomes and recommendations
Conduct health safety and environment audits of activities being undertaken by long term contractors and staff
Provide audit statistical data
Write health safety and environment audit reports and ensure corrective actions and recommendations arising from the inspections are clearly understood by relevant parties, and plans for follow up are implemented.
Provide advice and information to other teams within the airport in relation to HSE.
Ensure all airport developments and activities are conducted within OSH and Environment legislative requirements.
Assist the OSH and Environment Managers in the ongoing development and review of health safety and environment systems and training manuals.
Assist in the induction of employees in the online HSE induction
Promote a safety culture within working teams and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Safety Management Framework through development and implementation of safety initiatives.
Promote an environmentally conscious culture, ensure environmental risks are identified and minimised and ensure operations are in accordance with the clients Environmental Management Framework and Heritage Management Plan.
To respond to any workplace injury or incidents, determine immediate actions to prevent recurrence and investigate root causes.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Tertiary qualifications in Occupational Safety and Health and/or Environmental Science; Working knowledge of State and Federal legislation
Experience: Minimum 5 years HSE experience preferably in Construction, Mining or Heavy Industry. Providing written reports and presentations to internal and external audiences. Risk Management processes. Audit Systems
Skills/attributes: Knowledge of construction and site works safety and environmental requirements. Energetic well balanced person. Team player. Ability to work with rapidly changing demands. Resilient and resourceful. Highly developed verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
